Delete your Edukacy account

Quick summary

Edukacy lets you permanently delete your account and all the data we hold about you, at any time. There is no fee, no waiting period, and no need to talk to support — though we are happy to help if you prefer.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

1. Open the Edukacy app or visit app.edukacy.com.
2. Sign in with the email or phone number on your account.
3. Open Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account.
4. Type DELETE in the confirmation box and tap Permanently delete my account.

Your account is removed immediately. You will be signed out and taken back to the welcome screen.

Option 2 — Email or message us

If you cannot sign in, or if you prefer we handle it for you, send a deletion request to either of the channels below from the email or phone number tied to your account:

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following data from our active systems:

• Profile information — name, email, phone number, class/grade
• Learning data — XP, streaks, recovery credits, daily goals
• Lesson and quiz progress, time-on-task, and saved Eduscroll cards
• Certificates issued to you and course completion records
• Notification preferences, reminder times, and your push notification token
• Subscription record and the historical payment ledger we hold for you
• AI chat usage counters and any abuse flags tied to your account

What is retained, and why

A small subset of data is retained for legal and operational reasons:

• Tax invoices and receipts for past payments are retained for the period required by Indian tax law (currently up to 8 years). These are kept in anonymised form where possible — they will not be linkable to a profile.
• Aggregate, non-identifying analytics (e.g. "X lessons completed this week") may persist in our metrics pipeline. Your individual identifier is removed.
• Razorpay and Google Play retain payment-related records under their own retention policies. Their data is governed by their privacy policies.

Active subscriptions

If you have a paid subscription at the time of deletion:

• Razorpay subscriptions are cancelled immediately. No further charges are billed. Refunds for the current cycle, if any, follow our standard refund policy.
• Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled separately from your Play Store subscriptions screen — Google Play does not allow the app to cancel on your behalf. Open the Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Edukacy → Cancel.

Account recovery

Account deletion is permanent. We cannot restore deleted accounts. If you decide to come back to Edukacy later, you can register fresh with the same email or phone number — your old progress and certificates cannot be recovered.
